Written submissions are now invited on the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Lord Mayor and Councillors (now Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy).
The purpose of this Policy is to ensure accountability and transparency in the payment and/or reimbursement of expenses to the Lord Mayor and Councillors in carrying out their civic duties and that expenses and facilities provided are appropriate and reasonable.
Council, at its meeting of 3 September 2018, endorsed the Policy in principle, subject to renaming the Policy to ‘Councillor Expenses and Facilities’ and an opportunity to hear thoughts from the community.
