Council is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation, where every child is valued and their rights to safety and wellbeing are respected and upheld.
A Child Safe Organisation is an organisation that creates a culture, adopts strategies and takes actions that promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.
There have been recent changes to legislation to help protect children and young people. A key focus of these reforms is to create Child Safe Organisations, based on the Child Safe Standards(External link).
We want to know your thoughts on our draft Child Safe Commitment and Policy. The Child Safe Commitment is our public commitment to Child Safety, and will sit within the Child Safe Policy.
