Draft Code of Meeting Practice

Consultation has concluded

Following extensive consultation, the NSW Office of Local Government released a new Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW in November 2021. Council has resolved to exhibit the Draft Code of Meeting Practice for community comment.

The Code applies to all meetings of Council and Committees of Council, of which all the members are Councillors. Council Committees whose members include persons other than Councillors may adopt their own rules for meetings unless Council determines otherwise.

Following exhibition and consideration of any submissions, the Draft Code of Meeting Practice 2022 will be updated to incorporate any relevant amendments.

The 2022 Draft Code of Meeting Practice is on exhibition from 23 Feb 2022 to 6 April 2022 and can also be viewed at:

  • Council libraries during opening hours;

  • Council’s Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor Administration Building, 41 Burelli Street Wollongong, between 9am and 5pm weekdays;

Submissions must be made in writing:
