Consultation has concluded

We’re developing our next Community Safety Plan. This plan explains how we’ll work to create a safer Wollongong for everyone. We’re keen to hear from our community about how safe you feel in your neighbourhood, and in the city centre.

Community safety means people feel safe, and are safe in their homes, and out and about in their community. We work to create a safe city in lots of different ways including community education, design and use of public spaces and information sharing.

We also work with lots of partner organisations like police, businesses, government agencies, community groups and residents to make Wollongong a safer place.

You can also come and have a chat to our Community Safety team at a pop-up kiosk. Check out the key dates and Council events page for when and where.

Please provide your feedback by 2 February 2025. We’ll use what we hear to help us to decide what we’ll focus on to improve safety for everyone.

Accessibility and language assistance

If you’re d/Deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech or language difficulty, you can contact us through the National Relay Service. If you need an interpreter, you can contact us through the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450. You’ll need to provide our phone number 02 4227 7111 for either service.
