Engagement Findings - Update December 2024

Thank you to everyone who participated in the engagement with our community on proposed changes around Bulli Train Station.

About the project

In Bulli, the community was being asked to share their thoughts on proposed lighting at the traffic island near Franklin Avenue.

There were 15 submissions made in relation to the proposed lighting on the traffic island.

Results

Question 1: Do you agree that this plan will improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists in Bulli and lead to better access of the Train Station?

Question 2: What do you think about the proposed lighting improvements on Franklin Avenue?

Additional improvements

Transport for NSW announced on the 11 October 2024 a suite of improvements to several train stations in the Illawarra as part of this program. In addition to the lighting improvements at Bulli station, Transport for NSW will be providing a new sheltered bicycle storage space and upgrading the existing bike racks. You can read more about this by visiting the media release - Wheely easy access coming to Illawarra Train Stations as E-Scooter trial extension is confirmed | NSW Government

Next Steps

Council will now consider all the feedback provided by the community regarding the proposed changes to Bulli Train Station. We will use your feedback and local knowledge to finalise a detailed design.

All feedback is important and is one factor in the decision-making process for Council. The graphic below shows some of the factors we consider in our decision making:

We will let all previous participants and the broader community will be notified about the final design before we start construction.
