Share your thoughts on the proposed changes around Coniston Train Station
Currently there is no footpath on Gladstone Avenue connecting the street parking to the station entrance. To access the station, commuters using the Gladstone Avenue commuter car park are directed to walk between the parking and the road.
Additionally, the footpath located east of the railway line between Bridge Street and Miller Street is not serviced by lighting and offers little passive surveillance. This impacts perceptions of safety in the area at night and as a result discourages active modes of transport to Coniston Station.
We are proposing
- Four new light poles on the eastern side of the station. It will be along the pedestrian link between Bridge Street and Miller Street.
- A new footpath along Gladstone Avenue near the station’s parking area
- New wheel stops in the station’s parking bays
- Supporting kerb ramps and line marking.
