Wollongong DCP Draft Chapter E16: Bush Fire Management and Updated Bush Fire Prone Land Mapping

Consultation has concluded

Council resolved on 27 June 2022 to exhibit the draft Chapter E16 Bush Fire Management of the Wollongong Development Control Plan (WDCP) 2009 and updated Bush Fire Prone Land Mapping.

The chapter outlines the requirements when carrying out development within bush fire prone land. Chapter E16 has been reviewed and updated to provide consistency with Planning for Bushfire Protection 2019, the updated bush fire prone lands mapping requirements and Australian Standard AS3959 – 2018 Construction of Buildings in Bushfire-prone areas.

The draft Chapter E16 and the updated Bush Fire Prone Land mapping will be on public exhibition for a minimum period of 28 days. The documents can be viewed:

  • In the Documents section of this page
  • At Wollongong Library and branches, during library hours
  • At the Council Administration Building - 41 Burelli Street, Wollongong, between 9am and 5pm weekdays.

Make a submission

Submissions can be made in any of the following ways:

  • Complete the Feedback Form
  • Write to: The General Manager, Wollongong City Council, Locked Bag 8821 WOLLONGONG DC NSW 2500, and quote CST-100.02.081 in your letter
  • Email council@wollongong.nsw.gov.au - and quote CST-100.02.081 in the subject

Submissions must be received before 5:00pm on Monday 22 August 2022.
