Development Control Plan 2009: Draft Chapter D16: West Dapto Release Area
Consultation has concluded
On 28 June 2021, Council resolved to exhibit the draft Chapter D16: West Dapto Release Area of the Wollongong Development Control Plan (WDCP) 2009. This Chapter is intended to provide structure and guidance for the future development of the West Dapto Urban Release Area.
The amendments clarify that Neighbourhood Planning is the preferred approach to implement the requirements of Clause 6.2 of Wollongong Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2009. Other proposed changes to Chapter D16 include:
- Section 14 introduces clear steps and target timeframes for the Neighbourhood Planning process.
- Figure 17 “Defined Neighbourhoods” has been refined to improve alignment of Neighbourhood Plan boundaries with water sub-catchments, ownership, topography, and constraints more accurately.
- Minor additional clarity within Section 15.
- Minor textual edits to improve the readability.
Exhibition period
The draft Chapter will be on public exhibition for 28 days from 16 July until 16 August 2021.
