Development Control Plan 2009: West Dapto Urban Release Area and Residential Subdivisions
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LinkedinEmail this link
Consultation has concluded
West Dapto is the region’s largest strategic urban release area. In 2018 the West Dapto Vision was presented to the community for comment. After this engagement, Council adopted the West Dapto Vision in December 2018.
Now the vision is adopted, we’re reviewing the Wollongong Development Control Plan 2009 (DCP) and inviting you to have your say.
Specifically, we are presenting draft amendments in the DCP for Chapter D16, West Dapto Urban Release Area and Chapter B2, Residential Subdivisions.
Based on a working knowledge and stakeholder feedback gained over the past 10 years, there are a number of improvements and efficiencies that can be made through Chapter D16 to better meet the intended outcomes adopted in the West Dapto Vision.
There is opportunity for improvements in the Neighbourhood Planning process, in achieving strategic planning outcomes and efficient infrastructure delivery, and to better align with infrastructure planning such as the West Dapto Development Contributions Plan. Also clear and consistent guidance for land development will improve efficiency in the development assessment process.
In Chapter B2 a consolidated and updated set of requirements would better serve the development industry in terms of understanding Council’s land release guidelines.
You will find the documents in the Document Library to the right of this page. There is also a brief summary of the key changes. Please view the chapters and provide your feedback in the surveys below.
