Consultation has concluded

Council’s Asbestos Policy has been reviewed, with minor changes to the draft Policy proposed to ensure that it is consistent with current legislation, reference material, government agency descriptions and web links.

Background

Council has an existing Asbestos Policy, which was adopted in September 2016. The draft Asbestos Policy was formulated to be consistent with Council’s legislative obligations and within the scope of Council’s powers. This policy should be read in conjunction with relevant legislation, guidelines and codes of practice. In the case of any discrepancies, the most recent legislation should prevail.

For more information, you can read the Council report here and the draft Asbestos Policy here.
