We are seeking feedback on the Draft Crown Reserves Plan of Management for 32 Crown Reserves. The Crown land under this Plan of Management includes several suburbs, including Austinmer, Coledale, Balgownie, Bellambi, Berkeley, Bulli, Corrimal, Cringilla, Darkes Forest, Gwynneville, Helensburgh, Lake Heights, Otford, Port Kembla, Thirroul, Towradgi, Warrawong, Wollongong, Wombarra and Woonona.

The Crown Land Management Act 2016 came into effect on 1 July 2018. The Crown Land Management Act authorises Council to manage certain Crown Land as if it were public land under the Local Government Act 1993. When public land is classified as Community Land under the Local Government Act, a Plan of Management is required. A draft Crown Reserves Plan of Management has been prepared for 32 Crown Reserves.

The Draft Plan of Management has been approved by the Minister (via the NSW Department of Planning and Environment – Crown Lands) for public exhibition. The results of the public exhibition process will be reported to Council for consideration at a future meeting.
