Mobile Food Truck Trial
Consultation has concluded
Did you use a mobile food truck or van near you? We want to hear about it!
Over the past several months, you may have seen different food trucks and vans trading at select locations on public land, across the Wollongong LGA. These may have been near beaches, parks, walking tracks and sporting grounds.
As part of the trial we identified 13 public spaces to activate through the use of mobile food vendors. We are now seeking feedback on the trial to see if we should allow those 13 sites to become permanent locations for mobile food vendors, and other sites in the future to be considered.
If you visited a food truck or van at one (or more) of these locations, we want to hear what you thought about it!
How do I get involved?

About the draft Policy and trial
Council approved a draft Mobile Food Vending Policy and held a Mobile Food Vending trial that finished on the 14 March 2024.
This Policy allowed mobile food vendors to trade on public land, which is land owned or managed by Council. The trial was held across different locations in the Local Government Area (LGA) that were identified based on suitability and feedback previously received from local mobile food businesses.
You can find out more about the mobile food vending trial by reading the FAQs, and the draft Mobile Food Vending Policy.
