Get Animated Workshop by Angie Cass
When I first moved to the Illawarra PK was a just a view from the bay of Austinmer but it was beguiling from the start. I was attracted by the unlikely marriage of puffing black chimneys and blue waves. The ships on the horizon added to the allure. Since my first night visit, to photograph the flames, I've been hooked. So much so that I made a series of artworks entitled Stack in 2015 and exhibited them at Black Gold in Thirroul. This year I won a grant from WCC to hold two collage workshops on the theme of Port Kembla. Those collages are currently showing in the Creative Container in Wollongong and may tour after that. I've personally made over forty collages on the theme of PK and was featured in the Mercury as "Woman obsessed by Port Kembla". What a description to savour, as it is actually true.
