Pop-up Cycleways Final Survey
Consultation has concluded
UPDATE
Thank you to everyone who completed the Pop-Up Cycleways Final Survey. Read the Engagement Summary(External link) to find out what we heard and how it has been used.
Since March 2021, we’ve been trialling Pop-up Cycleways at various locations throughout the Wollongong Local Government Area. We’re at the end of the trial period and are now seeking further feedback from users and residents on the Pop-up Cycleways to help make decisions about what to do next.
Read below for more information or complete the user survey or the survey for non-users by Monday January 30, 2023.
Pop-up Cycleways - History
After Council adopted the Wollongong Cycling Strategy 2030, we started constructing Pop-up Cycleways in the Wollongong CBD(External link), Port Kembla(External link), Towradgi(External link) and Thirroul(External link) to encourage more people to ride. The Pop-up Cycleways have varied in different locations, with the aim of improving safety and access for bicycles. We’ve trialled bike lanes on the road, shared use paths (pedestrians and bikes) and slow speed zones with traffic calming (bikes and cars on the road, with speed bumps to slow cars down).
We've been adapting the Pop-up Cycleways throughout the trial period, based on feedback from the community. We’re seeking community feedback via the final survey to inform what we do next with the pop-up cycleways.
