Planning Proposal - minor clause amendments to the Wollongong Local Environmental Plan 2009
Have your say on Wollongong's planning updates
On 15 September 2025 Council resolved to prepare and exhibit a Planning Proposal to make a number of minor amendments to clauses within the Wollongong Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2009.
Council has now received permission from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure to exhibit the Planning Proposal.
What does the Planning Proposal intend to do?
- Formally repeal the Wollongong Local Environmental Plan 1990, which ceased to apply to land within the Wollongong Local Government Area in 2018.
- Update Clause 4.1A minimum lot sizes for certain split zones to include a missing reference to land zoned C4 Environmental living.
- Update various out-of-date references to State legislation and policies.
