Preliminary Notification of Draft Planning Proposal for Former Corrimal Coke Works

Consultation has concluded

Wollongong City Council has received a Draft Planning Proposal for the rezoning of land known as the former Corrimal Coke Works, at 27 Railway Street, Corrimal [Lot 1 DP 795791, Lot 5 DP 749492, Lot 126 DP 598190, Lot 11 DP 749492].

To assist Council in forming an opinion on the draft planning proposal, we are notifying interested community members and other stakeholders before reporting the draft planning proposal to a Council meeting in 2018.

The draft planning proposal seeks to rezone 18 hectares of land known as the former Corrimal Coke Works, from IN3 Heavy Industrial and RE2 Private Recreation, to R3 Medium Density Residential and RE1 Public Recreation.

Alternatively, you can view this information in hard copy at:

  • Wollongong City Council Customer Service Centre, 41 Burelli Street, Wollongong, during business hours.

If Council resolves to progress the draft planning proposal, there will be a formal community consultation period as part of the process.

The draft planning proposal will be on public view from 23 October to 24 November 2017.
