Review of Wollongong Development Control Plan 2009 Chapter A2: Ecologically Sustainable Development
Council is seeking feedback on revisions to Wollongong Development Control Plan (DCP) 2009 Chapter A2: Ecologically Sustainable Development.
On 16 December 2024 Council resolved to exhibit the draft DCP Chapter A2.
The purpose of this chapter is to explain how the principles of Ecologically Sustainable Development are considered by Council in making decisions on development applications. The new draft Chapter reflects recent improvements in Council’s approach to sustainability and climate change. It refers to the importance of addressing indoor air quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing urban heat in development proposals.
The draft Wollongong DCP 2009 Chapter A2 is on exhibition from Monday 3 February 2025 to Monday 3 March 2025 and can be viewed:
- At all Wollongong City Library branches during opening hours
- At Council’s Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor Administration Building, 41 Burelli Street Wollongong, between 9am and 5pm weekdays
- Online via the Documents Library
