Wollongong City Council's Code of Business Ethics provides guidance regarding the standards of ethical behaviour that organisations, service providers, small businesses and individuals can expect from Councillors and members of staff. It also covers what is expected of them, in their dealings with Council.

The code is currently due for review. Council resolved on 6 February 2023, to place on public online exhibition, a draft revised Code of Business Ethics.

Proposed changes

The general content of the Code of Business Ethics remains consistent with Council’s Codes of Conduct and the only changes are to style, format, and presentation. The format of the document has been changed (brochure style) to provide a professional public facing document.

The community is invited to provide feedback during the 21-day public online exhibition period. After this, the revised code and a summary of the feedback received will be reported back to Council for adoption and the documents placed on Council’s website.
