Consultation has concluded
As part of Council’s commitment to improve access in our open space areas we are constructing a shared path to connect the Helensburgh Town Centre and Rex Jackson Oval to local recreational areas.
The shared path component is proposed to commence at the swimming pool car park on Walker Street and connect to the eastern oval entrances, cricket nets and down to the netball court car park and mountain bike facility. A footpath is also proposed to link from the cricket nets west to the skate park. The project will also include cleaning up weeds and overgrown shrubs on the Walker Street frontage, which will improve visibility and safety.
Seats will be installed approximately every 100m and will include armrests, shade trees and enough space to allow prams or wheelchairs access from both of the pathways.
Construction is planned to be completed later this year. During construction, work crews, their vehicles and equipment will be in the area. The work crew will aim to minimise disruption.
Please view the consultation plan in the Document section.
