At Council, we're committed to improving and upgrading our roads. We’re planning for a road upgrade on the eastern side of Squires Way, between Elliotts Road and Puckey Avenue, North Wollongong.

We’ll be building a new kerb and gutter, and widening the road. You can learn more by reading the Frequently Asked Questions and having a look at the plan.

We expect to start construction of this project in early 2022, with works taking approximately 2 months.

We will aim to minimise disruption during this period, however there will be some traffic control requirements at times. There will always be one southbound and one northbound lane open to traffic throughout the construction period. The existing shared path will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists and won’t be impacted by the road upgrade.

If you’re d/Deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech impairment, you can contact us through the National Relay Service you need an interpreter you can contact us through the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450. You’ll need to provide our phone number (02) 4227 7111 for either service.
