Consultation has concluded

We’re working on a master plan for Stuart Park (including JP Galvin Park) and want your ideas for how we can improve this area for everyone over the next 10 years. We know this is a well-used and valued place for our community and visitors. Many of us enjoy going there to play, picnic, attend special events, get fit or take in the beautiful natural areas and coastal views. It’s important we hear from everyone about the future of this site.

Improvements the community have already helped us with
Many people in our community were involved in the development of Blue Mile Master Plan(External link) and have shared their ideas for Stuart Park and surrounds. We’ve delivered lots of improvements to Stuart Park in the last few years:

  • Pedestrian safety improvements and additional parking.
  • New bridge and footpaths.
  • New amenities, including toilets and new and upgraded picnic shelters.
  • Tree planting

Ideas we’re looking for now
We’d like to know what else you think would improve Stuart Park and encourage you to spend time there. We want to hear your ideas for the whole area. We want these ideas to be achievable over the next 10 years.

How we’ll use your feedback
The ideas and information we collect during this phase will help inform the preparation of a draft Master Plan. The draft Master Plan will include potential landscape options. Many items in the Master Plan will go through further community engagement in future, to determine the finer details. We’ll share the draft Master Plan with the community early next year. You can let us know whether you support what’s in the draft before it goes to Council for adoption (approval). We’ll use the Master Plan to guide the future use of this area as a recreation, events and green space.
