Why is the amenities block being replaced?
The existing amenities building is run down. It also needs to be relocated approximately 20 metres south of the current building, so we can add more car parking. As such, the existing building is to be replaced.
What improvements are proposed?
The design for the new amenities block includes:
As part of Council's ongoing commitment to environmentally sustainable practices, the rainwater tank will provide the water for the toilets' flushing system.
These plans also include a new accessible pathway from the road to the amenities block, and a shower and foot washing tap on the outside of the building.
When will the amenities be built?
Council will undertake a tendering process in the first half of 2016. Following this, it is anticipated that construction will take place during May/June 2016 and will take approximately six months to complete, weather permitting.
The existing amenities facility will be available throughout construction.
What has been taken into account during the design of this project?
