Northern Suburbs Skatepark
Consultation has concluded
Share your thoughts on WF Jackson Park, Thirroul - the preferred location for the Northern Suburbs Skatepark
On 27 October 2025, Wollongong Council endorsed the preferred location for the construction of a new district level skatepark facility for the Northern Suburbs for public exhibition. We’re now seeking feedback on WF Jackson Park as the preferred location.
We’ve worked with renowned skatepark consultant Convic over the last couple of years to understand what the skate community want in a new facility, and to conduct site assessments on some potential locations. WF Jackson Park has been selected as the preferred location based on the following key considerations:
- The site is centrally located and easy to get to from across the Northern Suburbs.
- Its position on Lawrence Hargrave Drive provides excellent natural surveillance which is key for safety.
- The site's accessibility, visibility and location make it family and female-friendly.
- The space is under-utilised and there would be minimal conflict with infrastructure.
