We invite your feedback on plans for a beach access ramp to be installed at Austinmer beach. The proposed ramp has been designed to withstand the harsh coastal environment and changing sands and tides, ensuring accessibility to the beach is maintained into the future. Improved access benefits the whole community including those using wheelchairs or prams, people with limited mobility and carers.

Geo-technical investigations are currently underway to inform the final design. At this stage construction is planned for the off-peak period of winter 2021.

We've had many conversation with our community about access and inclusion. Austinmer beach was identified as one of four key beaches in Council’s Beach and Foreshore Access Strategy 2019-2028. The Strategy sets out Council’s plan to practically support people with disability to access our beaches and foreshores to participate in family and community activities.

Please read the Frequently Asked Questions, view the Consultation Plan and Important Links on this page before completing the online feedback form. The Consultation Plan shows an image of the site, the proposed location of the access ramp and alternative routes for pedestrian access required at times during construction.

Feedback closes Monday 14 December 2020.
