Compliance Cost Notice Charge - Proposal
Consultation has concluded
In late 2021, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 introduced an ability for Councils to recover the costs associated with issuing a notice and order, to those found to be non-compliant.
Compliance Cost Notice Charge - Proposal
Wollongong City Council are proposing to introduce a Compliance Cost Notice charge, so Council can recover costs associated with investigating non-compliance matters that result in an order being issued. Currently, investigation costs are covered by Council, resulting in a cost to the community and rate payers.
It is proposed that a Compliance Cost Notice charge of $500 be included in Council’s Revenue Policy (Fees and Charges).
