Consultation has concluded
Council is committed to reducing our city’s waste, diverting waste from landfill and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As part of this commitment we are revising our Waste and Resource Recovery – Fees and Exemptions Policy. Changes to the Policy will affect pensioners and community service organisations.
Over the past few years we have found that the amount of waste being received from the community has been increasing. This waste is not usually sorted resulting in larger amounts of waste being disposed of in landfill.
The proposed changes to our Waste and Resource Recovery - Fees and Exemptions Policy are intended to encourage people in the community to sort and recycle their waste reducing the waste that will end up to landfill.
You will find the Fees and Exemptions Policy and an FAQ on this page.
