Consultation has concluded
In August this year, Council recognised that we are in a state of climate emergency which requires urgent action by all levels of government, industry and the community.
One of the ways Council is taking action is through the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.
Council is required under the Global Covenant of Mayors to set an emissions reduction target. On behalf of the community, it is proposed to set a target of net zero emissions by 2050. Prior to setting a target, Council would like to hear your thoughts and feedback.
