Improving safety at the Cliff Rd and Bourke St intersection, North Wollongong
Consultation has concluded
The Wollongong foreshore continues to grow in popularity as a destination for both residents and tourists. With increasing numbers of people and vehicles in this area, we’re looking at ways to manage the growing safety risks to cyclists and pedestrians on roads and footpaths.
We successfully trialled the temporary closure of the northern leg of the Cliff Rd / Bourke St intersection in North Wollongong during the Blue Mile Tramway upgrade works, but we’d like your help to come up with a more permanent solution. What traffic safety issues have you experienced as a pedestrian, cyclist or driver in this location? What ideas do you have for making this intersection safer?
Your feedback will be used to inform the design of a permanent safety improvement to the intersection, which we will also be asking for your feedback on in 2019.
To have your say, map the places where you've experienced traffic safety issues and share your ideas for improving safety by dropping a pin on the map. You can leave comments and also read about the issues experienced by others. You can also tell us what your priorities are for this intersection.
All feedback must be submitted by Friday 28 September 2018.
