The original bridge was constructed in the early 1950s and is in poor condition; it does not meet current bridge standards including both lane width and pedestrian/cyclist criteria.
Pre-construction works currently underway include relocation of a gas service by the service provider, Jemena. Clearing works will commence at this site from the end of May/early June. Traffic control will be required and traffic is expected to be restricted to 1 lane at the bridge and on both approaches. Allowing for wet weather and other delays it is expected the project will be completed by the end of May 2015. The emergency services will be notified of the change to traffic conditions.
We invite you to have your say on the proposed plans for road and shared path improvements along Cordeaux Road, linking Cordeaux Heights to the Mt Kembla Village.
