Consultation has concluded

As part of our commitment to improve access and inclusion at our pools and beaches, a design has been prepared to create an Accessible Adult Change Facility in the Port Kembla Pool Amenities. This new change area will provide people with high support needs and their carers with the space and specialised equipment they need to enjoy Port Kembla Beach and Pool. The completed facility will be added to the National Public Toilet Map to help people with disability and their carers plan their trips. Construction is planned for Winter 2021.

All existing facilities will remain, but we’ll need some of the space now used in the men’s change area. Please read the Frequently Asked Questions and take a look at the Consultation Plan on this page for more information.

For those who currently use this space, we're seeking your feedback to help inform how we manage construction to minimise impacts wherever possible. For those who will be using the new Accessible Adult Change Facility, your feedback will help us better understand the needs of people with high support needs and their carers and inform future projects. Please submit your feedback below by Monday 2 November 2020.

This project is jointly funded by the Federal Government Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Fund and Wollongong City Council.

If you’re Deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment, you can contact us through the National Relay Service. If you need an interpreter you can contact us through the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131450. You’ll need to provide our phone number 02 4227 7111 for either service.
