HELP US SHAPE A NEW PUBLIC ART STRATEGY FOR WOLLONGONG

Council is seeking your feedback on our draft Public Art Strategy and Guidelines by 15 April 2016.

Public art is an integral part within any flourishing and liveable city to boost and support culture and artistic endeavour. Public art can also contribute significantly in deepening the community’s sense of connection to place, expressing identity, enhancing the urban environment.

There are 4 documents on exhibition which can be found in the document library on the right:

  • Animating Wollongong draft Public Art Strategy
  • Animating Wollongong draft Public Art Strategy Guidelines: Parts A, B and C.

Copies of Council's Cultural Plan and Action Plans are also provided for your information.

    We are inviting you to comment on Councils draft public art strategy and guidelines 2016-2021.We have taken your feedback and developed a draft Public Art Strategy. This is now available for your comments.

    The role of public art is to connect the community, via an artist, with its environment. Thriving art and culture are vital ingredients in a creative an liveable city . This strategy has been developed to provide a framework for council planning and decision making, as well as its ongoing care and maintenance.

    Submissions close 15 April 2016.
