We’re collecting images and personal reflections about the Helensburgh Cemetery portico to document its history. If you have a connection to the portico, we invite you to share your photos and memories here. With permission, some contributions may be included on new signage at the Cemetery or added to Council’s Local Studies(External link) collection. Submissions are open until Monday 30 June 2025. Before sharing your story, please read the consent information carefully to understand how your contribution may be used.

Consent information

By submitting your photo or story, you confirm that you own the rights to the content and grant Wollongong City Council permission to use it for the purposes of:

• Public display on signage at Helensburgh Cemetery; and
• Documenting this project, including promoting it.

The photographs or recordings will be held by Council and may be used by Council for the purposes set out above, which may include use on websites, videos, print or other publications. Where any such use is undertaken, you agree that you are not entitled to compensation.

The capture, storage and retention of all photographs and recordings is governed by the Privacy and Personal information Protection Act 1998(External link) and you have rights under that Act in relation to information containing your personal information.
