Why are we developing this PoM?

We are developing a new PoM for Stanwell Park Reserve and Bald Hill Lookout to meet the requirements of the Crown Land Management Act 2016 (CLM Act).  The existing 2009 Plan of Management for Stanwell Park Reserve and Bald Hill Lookout does not meet CLM Act requirements because it does not apply community land categories to the Stanwell Park Reserve.

Is Council planning major changes to the area?

Council is not planning major changes to the area. The draft PoM applies the community land categories of Park, Sportsground and Natural Area to the Stanwell Park Crown Reserve to comply with the Crown Land Management Act 2016.

    What does the exhibition involve?

The Draft PoM will be on public exhibition from the 16 December to 19 February 2021.  Submissions can be made via email, online by completing a Join the Conversion survey or by sending a letter addressed to the General Manager until 5pm on 19 February 2021.

A public meeting chaired by an independent chairperson will be held on 16 February 2021 in two online sessions due to COVID-19. If you would like to attend, please register your interest by emailing mtyndall@wollongong.nsw.gov.au  and further details will be provided to you.  Attending a public meeting is another way to make a submission on the draft PoM.  The chairperson will make a report to council on the issues raised during the meeting.

At the end of the exhibition period a report of the results of the exhibition activities will be provided to Council.  For inquires on the draft PoM please contact Council’s Community Land Management Officer or Council’s Crown Land Management Officer on 4227 7111.  The draft PoM can be downloaded for review or hard copies mailed out upon request.  Council’s public libraries will also have a hard copy of the draft PoM available for viewing.
