This stage of consultation has concluded.

Council is planning for a new community centre and library to be built in Warrawong at the corner of Greene and King Streets.

This new community facility will provide for the needs of the community who live in the southern suburbs of Berkeley, Lake Heights, Cringila, Warrawong, Port Kembla, Primbee and Windang.

In March and April 2019 we asked how it could be a welcoming and accessible place for all and what people would want to be able to do at the Community Centre and Library.

You can now read the Engagement Report to find out what people told us.

To learn more about the project and find background information, see the FAQs on the right of this page.

If you have any questions about the project, send an email to: engagement@wollongong.nsw.gov.au

Thanks to everyone who provided their thoughts and idea to help us in planning for the new Centre and LIbrary.

We had workshops in schools, with youth groups and with community organisations. We also heard from residents at drop-in sessions, community lunches and BBQ's.

You can read a summary of how we got the word out about this project and what the community has told us they want. The Engagement Report is now available in the Document Library on the right of this page.

With community feedback in mind our next steps are to finalise the project scope, and then engage an architect to help us design the new facility. They will use the project scope to guide them.

In the first half of 2020 we will be back with draft concept designs to ask for community feedback.
