Consultation has concluded

Welcome!

Thank you for participating in the West Dapto suburb naming project working group! We really appreciate the time you are taking to be part of this project-particularly at this stressful time for our community.

Acknowledgement of Country

We wish to pay respects to the Country on which we are meeting, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and pay our respects to members of our Aboriginal community who are supporting this project.

Purpose of this group

As you know, we have asked the community to suggest names for our new West Dapto suburbs. We have a list of 116 names, which we need to review and research. We need to develop a shortlist of names that meet the Geographical Names Board of NSW (GNB) criteria, and are also significant and meaningful to West Dapto. When we present our shortlist of names to the GNB we need to provide evidence about why names were or weren't included in the shortlist. That's where we need your help - we need you to review the names and provide research about the history and significance of that name to help us develop the shortlist.
