Consultation has concluded
With the growth of West Dapto we need to ensure the suburbs meet the needs of our current and future community and so we will be undertaking a suburb boundary review of Avondale, Kembla Grange and Huntley. The Geographical Names Board of NSW (GNB) provides criteria and guidelines that Council will follow to determine the new suburb boundaries.
We are inviting community members to tell us your ideas for new suburb names for West Dapto. We would particularly like suggestions of local Aboriginal significance, local historical females and names that relate to features of the suburb. All Aboriginal language suggestions will be reviewed by members of our Aboriginal community.
How can I get involved?
Give us your ideas! Take the survey to let us know your name suggestions
Fill out a feedback form - you can find these at Dapto Library, 93-109 Princes Highway Dapto, or at Council's Customer Service Centre at 41 Burelli St Wollongong.
Attend our drop-in information sessions at
Dapto Mall, Saturday 14 March 12-2pm
Dapto Ribbonwood Centre, Tuesday 17 March 1-3pm
The project team will be available to answer your questions. If you’d like to attend and have accessibility or mobility requirements, or need an interpreter to help translate, please contact Council’s Engagement team on (02) 4227 7111 or engagement@wollongong.nsw.gov.au and let them know how they can support your attendance.
