Welcome to the Conversation about Your Personal Safety in Public.

Wollongong City Council works with our community to try and make public spaces across our city safer for everyone.

We’re updating our Community Safety Plan 2021-2025, which will include strategies to make people feel safer, be safer, and reduce crime.

We want to know about any experiences you’ve had in the past 12 months that made you feel unsafe. This will help us make sure our new Community Safety Plan focuses on the issues, places and communities that are most important to you.

Please tell us about your unsafe experiences, for example:

  • Have you been the victim of crime or anti-social behaviour?
  • Is your neighbourhood safe from dangerous driving, vandalism or violence?

Please share your experiences even if you have not reported them to police or other authorities.

Council officers will be available to provide information and to hear your experiences at an information stand at the following locations:

  • Tuesday 3 March - Corrimal Lederer Shopping Centre, 10am to 12pm
  • Friday 13 March - Wollongong Crown Street Mall, 11.30am to 1.30pm
