Wongawilli Road looking east

As part of Council's long-term vision for West Dapto to grow and develop into a series of integrated and connected communities, a plan has been prepared for the upgrade of West Dapto Road from Shone Avenue, Horsley to Rainbird Drive, Kembla Grange. This large-scale project includes:

  • Road, pavement and drainage works.
  • Improved access during flooding.
  • New traffic signals at two intersections.
  • A new shared pathway to connect pedestrians and cyclists from Wongawilli town centre to the planned Darkes town centre.
  • The construction of a new pedestrian bridge.
  • Boom gates and flashing lights at the Shone Avenue rail crossing.

Construction is planned to start later this year and take several years to complete. We’re now sharing the plan and how we'll manage potential works impacts with the community, to keep you informed and to invite your feedback. Your feedback will help inform the project during construction.
