Consultation has concluded

The map shows the suburbs of Kembla Grange, Huntley and Avondale. The proposed suburb boundary to separate Kembla Grange in two is along Dapto Creek. The proposed suburb boundary to separate Huntley in two is along Robins Creek. The proposed suburb boundary to separate Avondale in two is along a proposed future road that will separate Avondale into east and west.

With the growth of West Dapto we need to ensure the suburbs meet the needs of our current and future community and so we will be undertaking a suburb boundary review of Avondale, Kembla Grange and Huntley. The Geographical Names Board of NSW (GNB) provides criteria and guidelines that Council will follow to determine the new suburb boundaries.

We are inviting community members to tell us your ideas for new suburb names for West Dapto. We would particularly like suggestions of local Aboriginal significance, local historical females and names that relate to features of the suburb. All Aboriginal language suggestions will be reviewed by members of our Aboriginal community.

    Consultation has concluded

Due to the current issues in our community (and globally) with Covid 19, we have extended our engagement period for West Dapto suburb naming project. This means that more people in our community will have the chance to suggest a suburb name for the new West Dapto suburbs. If you would still like to suggest a name take the survey.
